Duzgın Rock: According to belief, Duzgın Bava vanished at the summit of this mountain.
Kemerê Duzgıni is not merely a sacred site of pilgrimage; it is also a focal point of collective memory and identity.
- the seat of Duzgı’s spiritual power, - a sacred place of Truth (“Raa Heqi”), - a place for vows, offerings, and prayers, - the protective mountain of Dersim, - a connection between humanity, nature, and sacredness.
Many people traditionally believe: - that Duzgı disappeared there or became spiritualized, - that his power continues to live within the mountain, - that the mountains themselves are animated and possess spirit, - that the Eskêrê Duzgıni dwell there or act from there.
Therefore, the mountain is not merely “a religious place,” but part of the living cosmic order.
In old narratives, the Eskêrê Duzgıni ride across the mountains at night, protect travelers, or punish immoral behavior. This connects nature, ethics, and spirituality together.
