According to the legend, Khidr (Khizir) (Guardian Angel of the Land) and Ilyas (Guardian Angel of the Sea) meet on earth on the night of May 5th and 6th. According to the Gregorian calendar, May 6th is Xıdırellez day, according to the Julian calendar, also known as the Rumi calendar, April 23rd.
On this night heaven and earth become one and the power of creation is revealed. It is believed that Khidr and Ilyas drank the so-called water for eternity (Abu Hayat).
