| Beschreibung: | Dear participants of the European Solar Rallye Phebus 2009,
As you know, association Phebus Ariege and association Volt-Tour want to organize each year the largest solar rally that of Europe. We would be very pleased to see you participate in the 9 editon solar rally !!!
The Phebus Solar Rally is an event organised to promote the use of sustainable transport, with the accent on renewable energies as the power source.
This is a Europe-wide event which takes place between the two national regions of Catalonia and Occitane (Sud French), which form part of two neighbouring European states – Spain and France – separated by the Pyrenean mountains. The nature of this terrain means an extra challenge to the vehicles themselves – given that some parts of the run reach 1000 metres above sea level. Participants are expected to cover daily stages of 60 to 120km, sharing the roads with everyday transport. The Rally is non-competitive and its purpose is purely to publicise the use of alternative power systems for transport.
And what a challenge! The great cities of Barcelona and Toulouse, coastal roads bordering the Mediterranean, visits to charming Catalan and French villages and spectacular scenery and views from mountain to sea await you.
The 2009 edition of the Phebus rally will be held from May 29th to June 1th. The total length of the course is approximately 400km and includes several moutain passes.
