Munich, Germany - Netminder Boris Rousson turned aside 46 shots as the Munich Barons hung on to edge the Revier Löwen Oberhausen on the road, 2-1, on Tuesday. A shorthander by Peter Douris proved to be the game-winner as Munich recorded its seventh straight win - a very costly one, though.

Winger David Oliver had to leave in the first period after injuring his thigh in a collision behind the net. The 30-year-old will undergo further examinations upon his return to Munich.

In the final twenty minutes, the Barons also lost youngster Peter Abstreiter. The 21-year-old lost a couple of teeth after a deflected puck hit him right in the face. He was immediately taken to a local hospital.

Douris scores his third short-hander

Munich jumped out to an early lead when Jörg Handrick scored his second goal of the season 4:46 into the campaign. Oberhausen’s Christian Kohmann tied the game at one apiece on a powerplay goal with 2:37 to go in the opening period.

Midway through the second, Peter Douris put the Barons ahead 2-1 on his third shorthanded goal of the season – a lead they would hang on to till the final horn, thanks in large part to great goaltending by Boris Rousson. The Barons were outshot 47-28.
