Munich, Germany - The Hamburg Freezers Monday confirmed the signing of Anaheim Mighty Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere to a lockout contract. The official announcement of the German Elite League club came several days after the 27-year-old Montreal-native announced the deal to North American news media.

On Thursday, Freezers GM Chris Reynolds had denied rumors of a possible Giguere signing in a TV interview: "We are allowed to sign one more import player. There are a lot of potential candidates out there. We'll wait until we make a move."

Giguere arrived in Hamburg Monday and will be presented to the media in a Tuesday news conference.
