Liles is expected to arrive in Iserlohn on January 3. He will only be cleared to play though if the whole NHL season is called off after the January 14 meeting between the league and the players' union.
The 24-year-old Zionsville, Indiana-native originally signed a lockout deal with Iserlohn's DEL rival Kassel Huskies this off-season. But the contract was voided after Liles broke his foot playing for Team USA in the World Cup of Hockey.
Liles recorded 34 points (10G, 24A) in his NHL rookie season with the Colorado Avalanche last year and was selected to the NHL's All Rookie Team.
With Liles, the Roosters will have three MSU alumni on their roster: Mike York and Bryan Adams played for the Spartans from 1995 to 1999. Liles arrived the season after their senior years.
