Jim Dowd and Brandon Reid each scored a goal and three assists as the Hamburg Freezers skated to their third win in a row, edging the Kölner Haie 4-3 (0-0, 3-2, 1-1) at home. After a scoreless first period, the hosts took the lead when Reid scored on a 5-on-3 power-play five minutes into the middle frame. Craig Johnson re-directed a shot from Dowd to double the lead to 2-0 two minutes later. The Haie refused to go down without a fight and tied the game halfway through the period on back-to-back tallies from Jeremy Adduono and Colin Beardsmore. Just two minutes after the equalizer, Hamburg reclaimed a 3-2 lead on a goal by Paul Manning. Dowd extended the lead to 4-2 40 seconds into the final period. Cologne pulled within a goal on Eduard Lewandowski's score 22 ticks later, but was unable to find the back of the net again.

Michael Hackert recorded a goal and two assists as the Frankfurt Lions recorded their sixth win in seven games, defeating the Mannheim Adler 4-1 (1-0, 2-0, 1-1) at home.
