Munich, Germany - Martin Jiranek converted the game-winning penalty shot as the Nürnberg Ice Tigers won the second game of a back-to-back series against the Krefeld Pinguine Tuesday night. In Cologne, Dave McLlwain lifted the Kölner Haie over the Hannover Scorpions.

After losing 3-2 in Krefeld on Sunday, the Nürnberg Ice Tigers rallied from a two-goal deficit to down the Krefeld Pinguine at home, 4-3 (1-1, 0-1, 2-1) after penalty shootout. Krefeld seemed to be headed for its second straight win over Nuremberg when defenseman Justin Kurtz put the Penguins up 3-1 with a short-handed tally early in the third. But the Tigers managed to respond during the same power-play when Robert Tomik found the back of the net just seconds after Kurtz's tally. Konstantin Firsanov's goal with 8:24 left in regulation send the game into the shootout.

Andreas Morczinietz and McLlwain scored power-play goals as the Kölner Haie held on for a 2-1 (1-0, 0-0, 1-1) home victory over the Hannover Scorpions. Zdenek Nedved scored Hanover’s only goal.
