Selivanov was courted by Krefeld during the summer but decided to start the season with St. Petersburg of the Russian Elite League.

In 459 career NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Columbus Blue Jackets and Edmonton Oilers, the Moscow-native tallied 235 points (121 goals, 114 assists) and recorded 379 penalty minutes. He also scored 5 points (2G, 3A) in 13 postseason games.

In his only DEL campaign so far, Selivanov finished third in the league in scoring in 2001-02, tallying 61 points (26 goals, 35 assists) and 87 penalty minutes in 58 games for the Frankfurt Lions.

During the second half of that season, he was coached by current Pinguine head coach Butch Goring.

Selivanov is scheduled to debut in Friday’s road game against the Berlin Eisbären.
