Munich, Germany - Thanks to an explosive start, the Hamburg Freezers seemed to have the Berlin Eisbären in the ropes early on in Tuesday action in the DEL. But led by David Roberts, the first-place team rallied back.

Two-goal effort: Berlin’s David Roberts
Leading DEL Scorers
(as of Feb 19, 2005)

David Roberts scored a couple of goals as the Eisbären erased a three-goal first-period deficit to down the Hamburg Freezers after penalty shootout,
4-3 (1-3, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0). Hamburg shocked Berlin eight minutes in when Andy Schneider and Jesse Belanger scored back-to-back shorthanded goals only 35
seconds apart. Peter Abstreiter added a goal to put the Freezers up 3-0 with under seven minutes to go in the first. But a late tally from Roberts
got Berlin back into the game. A second-period shorthander by Kelly Fairchild and Roberts's second goal of the night at 12:40 of the final
period evened the score at 3-3, sending the game to an OT shootout decision where Steve Walker sealed Berlin's comeback win.

Kassel beats Cologne back-to-back

Playing back-to-back games against the Kassel Huskies, the Kölner Haie came up short again, losing 3-2 after penalty shootout (0-1, 0-0, 2-1).
Alexander Serikow scored a pair of goals to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead 8:44 into the final frame, but Cologne responded. A mighty slapshot from
Mickey Elick and Tim Leahy's breakaway goal with 2:29 to go sent the contest into the extra session where Pat Mikesch converted the winning
penalty shot for Kassel.
